Commissioning the product

When the installation is completed, always make sure to install the sealing and trim cover . See Removing and installing the covers.

Configuring the Solar Life

  WARNING

Always be aware of the live wires when covers are removed and do not leave the product unattended in this condition.

During the commissioning, the installer configures the charging station via the web interface. This is necessary to link to a smart meter or, if applicable, an external management system.

Logging in on the service engineer account

  1. Make sure the charging station is off by setting its circuit breaker in the building's electrical installation to OFF.
  2. Make sure the trim cover and the sealing cover are removed.
  3. See Removing and installing the covers.

  4. Connect a laptop to the Ethernet port ETH.
  5. Start the charging station by setting the circuit breaker in the building’s electrical installation to ON.
  6. See Starting the product for detailed information on the starting process.

  7. On the laptop, go to the settings for the wired Ethernet connection and edit the following parameters:
    1. Set the IP settings to Manual.
    2. Set IPv4 to On.
    3. Set the IP address to, for example, 192.168.10.1.
    4. NOTICE 192.168.10.2 is the charging station.

    5. Set the Subnet mask to 255.255.255.0.
    6. Save the changes.

    NOTICE For detailed instructions on how to change the parameters, please refer to the documentation of the operating system.

  8. Wait until the status LED is off.
  9. Open a web browser on the laptop, for example, Chrome, Firefox or Safari.
  10. In the address bar, enter https://192.168.10.2.
  11. When the page loads, it shows a password field.

  12. Enter the service login token.
  13. The laptop is logged in on the service engineer account.

Configuring the settings

  WARNING

RISK OF FIRE OR OVERHEATING! Do not increase the maximum charging current setting until it is verified that the electrical installation and all cables have sufficient current-carrying capacity for continuous operation at the higher setting. If capacity is insufficient, upgrade the installation. Only after verification are the settings allowed to be raised. Never set the maximum charging current higher than the rating of the installation and cables.

In the following cases, the settings need to be configured, depending on the installation requirements:

  • When a smart meter is connected to the P1 port.
  • When an external management system needs to connect to the product.

Starting the product

  1. Make sure there is no charging cable connected to the outlet .
  2. Set the circuit breaker in the building’s electrical installation to ON.
  3. The We Drive Solar logo lights up and the product starts the startup sequence:
    • The We Drive Solar logo lights up.
    • The status LED lights up and cycles fast through the colours red, yellow, green, cyan, blue and off.
    • The status LED flashes yellow, indicating the initialisation and execution of the self-test.
    • The status LED changes to off.
    • The system and connections are tested. The self-test is successful.

      NOTICE The self-test takes about 20 seconds to start. The testing of internal parts can be heard.

  4. When the status LED changes to off, the product is ready for use.
  5. If the status LED changes to continuous red, this indicates an error. See Troubleshooting and repair for further information.

Passing information to the end-user or operator

NOTICE

  • As a part of the commissioning, the installer gives information to the owner or charge point operator regarding the use, cleaning and service requirements.
  • Make sure that the unique service login token (password) is handed over to the lawful owner of the charging station, or that it is forwarded to them.
