Connecting the power cables

  DANGER

  • Only qualified electricians are allowed to work on the electrical system.
  • RISK OF SHORT-CIRCUIT! Connect the power cables to the correct ports inside the Solar Life that agree with the building’s electrical installation.

To access the internal cable connections, remove the trim cover and the sealing cover . See Removing and installing the covers.

Connecting to a 1-phase grid with Neutral

The 1-phase connection applies to the following IEC earth grounding connection types: TT, TN-S and TN-C-S.

To connect Solar Life to a 1-phase grid with Neutral:

  1. Connect the phase wire L1 (brown) to L1.
  2. Connect the neutral wire N (blue) to N.
  3. Connect the protective earth wire PE (yellow/green) to PE.
  4. If applicable, tighten the power cable gland .

Connecting to a 3-phase grid with Neutral

The 3-phase connection applies to the following IEC earth grounding connection types: TT, TN-S and TN-C-S.

To connect Solar Life to a 3-phase grid with Neutral:

  1. Connect the phase wire L1 (brown) to L1.
  2. Connect the phase wire L2 (black) to L2.
  3. Connect the phase wire L3 (grey) to L3.
  4. Connect the neutral wire N (blue) to N.
  5. Connect the protective earth wire PE (yellow/green) to PE.
  6. If applicable, tighten the power cable gland .

Connecting to a 1-phase grid without Neutral

WARNING! Make sure that the phase that has VLX-VPE ≈ 0 is used as a neutral line. Using L3 in the schematics is for illustrative purposes only.

The 1-phase connection without Neutral applies to the following IEC earth grounding connection types: IT and grid without Neutral.

To connect Solar Life to a 1-phase grid without Neutral:

  1. Connect the phase wire L1 (brown) to L1.
  2. Connect the phase wire L3 (grey) to N.
  3. Assumptions:

Phase L3 is available next to L1

    VL3 - VPE ≈ 0

  4. Connect the protective earth wire PE (yellow/green) to PE.
  5. If applicable, tighten the power cable gland .

The 3-phase connection without Neutral applies to the following IEC earth grounding connection types: IT and grid without Neutral.

To connect Solar Life to a 3-phase grid without Neutral:
