Troubleshooting and repair

  DANGER

  • Service, maintenance tasks and repair work shall only be done by an authorised, properly qualified and skilled person.
  • Only use original parts and accessories.
  • Disconnect the electric vehicle from the charging station before any intervention.

The status LED flashes red.

Invalid charge card when starting a new transaction.

Use a valid card to start a new transaction.

Wrong charge card when trying to stop the current transaction.

Use the same card that was used to start the transaction in order to stop it.

The status LED is continuously red.

The supply voltages from the building’s electrical installation are not correct.

  1. Set the product to OFF with the circuit breaker in the building’s electrical installation.
  2. An installer should check the electrical installation and log in to the service engineer account to check for error messages. (See Logging in on the service engineer account.)
  3. Do not use the product before all error messages are resolved.

Solar Life’s internal RCBO has tripped (for models with an internal RCBO). See Technical data for model information.

The charging station does not respond.

The charging station is powered OFF.

  1. Check if the charging station is powered ON:
  2. For models with a Type 2 socket, insert the power cable into the outlet .

    For models with a fixed charging cable , connect the plug to the vehicle.

    Alternatively, hold a charge card in front of the RFID reader .

    The status LED lights up.

  3. If the charging station is OFF, check the circuit breaker and earth leak protection in the building’s electrical installation.

The circuit breaker in the building’s electrical installation is OFF.

Check if the circuit breaker in the building’s electrical installation is ON.

If it is OFF, determine the cause and, if needed, get the installation inspected by an installer.

The earth leak protection is OFF.

Check if the earth leak protection in the building’s electrical installation is ON.

If it is OFF, determine the cause and, if needed, get the installation inspected by an installer.

Charging does not start after signing in.

The charging cable to the vehicle is not connected correctly.

Check the charging cable and make sure it is connected correctly to the vehicle and, if applicable, the charging station.

Charging does not start after signing in and the status LED flashes red.

You are not signed in.

Try to sign in again and check the status LED .

NOTICE When signed in, the status LED lights up green.

Charging does not start after signing in and the status LED flashes blue.

There is not enough charging capacity available.

Make sure there is enough charging capacity by waiting until the power supply is available again or switching other devices OFF.

The plug of the charging cable cannot be removed from the charging station.

NOTICE Only applicable for charging stations with a Type 2 socket or Type 2S socket.

The lock motor could be jammed.

 

 

  1. Set the circuit breaker in the building’s electrical installation to OFF. The plug should release.
  2. If the plug is not released after powering off, contact a qualified installer to manually release the plug. Let the installer check the lock motor and the backup power supply to release the plug.

The charging station is powered, but it failed to release the plug.

 

 

 

Incorrect charge card (status LED flashes red)

Try another card or remove power from the charging station by switching off the power supply in the building’s electrical installation. The plug will be released.

The socket cover cannot be closed.

The socket cover could be defective and moisture could have entered the product.

  1. Make sure no moisture has entered the product.
  2. Contact an installer to inspect the product for moisture and replace the socket cover .
  3. Do not use the product until the socket cover is replaced and an installer has verified that the product is safe for use.
