We Drive Solar is a partner in the Zero Emission Corridor project. Within this project, companies, knowledge partners and public organisations work together on developing a future-proof, zero-emission logistics corridor. The project is carried out by a consortium of technology and transport companies in collaboration with knowledge institutions within the logistics mainports of Schiphol and Royal Flora Holland. It was developed in partnership with Amsterdam Logistics.
The project focuses on the practical rollout of electric heavy transport, smart charging infrastructure and energy systems that help reduce grid congestion. This includes looking at the use of electric trucks, charging hubs, energy hubs, battery storage and the smart control of charging processes.
The goal of the Zero Emission Corridor is to make the switch to emission-free transport feasible, affordable and scalable for the logistics sector. By testing innovations in practice and strengthening the collaboration between logistics, energy, technology and knowledge, the project contributes to a robust energy system and a more sustainable logistics chain.
At the heart of the project is the development of the Zero Emission Corridor EMS, which integrally manages the energy supply for both heavy transport and the built environment.
The Zero Emission Corridor project is made possible in part by a contribution from Kansen voor West and the European Union. This support helps the project partners to develop, demonstrate and scale up innovative solutions for zero-emission logistics in practice.
