How better to prove that you are doing V2G than showing data from the smart meters installed by grid operator and partner Stedin?
In the screenshot above, you see the combined data from the 50 Stedin smart meters installed in the We Drive Solar chargers where a MyWheels hashtag#Renault5 is located.
You see perfectly the test phase with the first Renault5’s hitting the streets in May and then the rollout and activation of V2G on all 50 Renault5 at the end of May and beginning of June, leading up to our UtrechtEnergized-event.
And now we are in the optimisation phase improving the number and length of V2G sessions moving forward.
Clarification: there are two cars at each charger, one Renault5 and one none-V2G car. So that’s why currently there is a lot more charging than discharging going on at these chargers.
Nice to see that we already did peaks of almost 200 kW of discharging in the first half of June (based on EPEX energy-prices).
Conclusion: V2G is here and now a part of the everyday energy system in Utrecht. Now it’s time to prepare the next scale-up phase: more cars, more cities, more energy-markets. And that’s exactly what we are doing with our partners!
