Charging solutions in action

Projects & Success Stories

Utrecht – The world’s first bidirectional region

Hundreds of our chargers now enable EVs across the city to store and return energy to the grid—reducing peak loads, integrating renewable energy, and making the city more resilient.

The Green Box – Cleantech Campus

Deployed at one of the Netherlands’ leading innovation campuses, V-City chargers are powering the next generation of clean energy ecosystems.

ASR: largest bidirectional charging plaza in the world

At the headoffice of ASR, the largest insurance company in the world, We Drive Solar has build the largest bidirectional charging plaza in the world with 350 plugs. Covered by more then 2.000 solar panels this project clearly shows the potentional of V2G-technology.

FAQ

What is the charging speed of an AC charger?
The charging rate of an AC charger depends on both the capacity of the charger (for example, 3.7 kW, 7.4 kW, 11 kW or 22 kW) and the maximum AC charging capacity of your vehicle. Although some chargers can deliver up to 22 kW, most electric vehicles limit AC charging to 11 kW. That means a faster charger will not necessarily ensure shorter charging times if your vehicle does not support that higher speed. Additionally, the final charging time depends on the size of your battery.
AC chargers are specifically designed for charging electric vehicles and usually cannot charge other devices. Using an EV charger for other purposes is not recommended, as it can damage the charger and compromise safety.
We offer both options: charging stations with a fixed cable and charging stations with a socket into which you plug your own charging cable. A fixed cable is useful for daily use at a fixed location, while a socket is more flexible – for example, if several cars with different connections use the same charger. Feel free to contact us if you are unsure about what is best for your situation.
