What will you do?
As a Lead Software Engineer at We Drive Solar, you will lead a team of talented software engineers and be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing embedded software solutions within our innovative charging systems. You combine technical expertise with leadership to deliver high-quality software that supports our mission: making clean, smart mobility accessible to everyone.
You will work closely with other members of the engineering team and various departments to ensure our software meets the highest quality and safety standards. Additionally, you will help your team grow through coaching, process optimization, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Your responsibilities
- Leading software development projects and managing a team of software engineers
- Acting as Scrum Master during stand-ups and progress reporting
- Designing, developing, and maintaining embedded software
- Collaborating with the Software Architect on quality assurance and security best practices
- Conducting code reviews and promoting technical knowledge sharing
- Supporting and coaching team members, onboarding new colleagues
- Ensuring effective communication with stakeholders, test engineers, and other departments
- Personally contributing to system integrations, requirements analysis, debugging, and documentation
- Continuously innovating and implementing relevant technologies
What do you bring?
- A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronics, IT, or a related field
- Extensive experience as an embedded software developer with proven leadership skills
- Experience with C++ and Python, embedded systems, microcontrollers, RTOS, and hardware interfaces
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, Trello, and various debugging and development environments
- Strong analytical skills, organized and solution-oriented
- Clear communicator with the ability to manage complex projects
- Fluent in both Dutch and English, spoken and written
